A Call to Service...
Giving Your Life Meaning and Purpose.
We hope that each of you will examine where you serve both in the church and in the community throughout this year.
As Christians, Jesus taught us to love each other.
How do we demonstrate that love?
By serving.
As we serve, we are making our commitment to him alive.
In having the most toys, biggest house or money, do we really win?
Join us for Sunday school this fall as we examine...A Call to Service...Giving Your Life Meaning and Purpose.
Our Adult Educational Programming will begin this Fall with several adult Bible studies and Sunday school classes offered.
We are planning on three morning Sunday school classes:
a Bible study (Charlie Boyd teaching),
a New Members' class on Lutheran Beliefs (Pastor Scott), and
a revised Parenting class (Marcia Giordano).
The Bible study class will be an on going class throughout the year.
Both the New Members' class and the Parenting class will be four weeks.
Adult Sunday school will meet from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. between worship services.
Our Wednesday night Bible study will focus on serving too.
Pastor Scott will teach this class beginning on September 5th at 6:00 p.m.
He will be focusing on the books of James and Peter and what they have to say about Christian service.
Sunday nights we will offer a Bible study titled I LOVE LUCY.
Catherine Heinzerling will lead this group as it reviews old I Love Lucy shows and how they still are applicable today.
This class will meet every other Sunday night following the young adult worship from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
In addition to Sunday School classes for all ages, we offer multiple opportunities during the week for building and strengthening our faith.
ADULTS can participate in weekly educational studies in addition to the three Sunday School classes.
Every other Sunday from 5:15 to 6:15, adults may choose to participate in Mere Christianity, a study of the book by C.S. Lewis.
Child Care is always provided for evening adult Bible studies.
JUNIOR and SENIOR HIGH YOUTH have a mid-week Bible study on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:00.
Both youth groups also address Bible questions at their regular Sunday youth meetings.
A new group, CHEERFUL CHERUBS, for children aged three years through fifth grade, meets once a month after Sunday worship.
Lunch is served and then the children participate in activities related to Lutheran beliefs.
During June, we offer an evening, family oriented, Vacation Bible School.
