A
LIFE OF INTEGRITY
Years ago, Pastor Bob Moorehead wrote a declaration of his faith.
Here is a portion of it:
“I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed . . . I am a disciple of
Jesus Christ . . . My past is redeemed, my present makes
sense, and my future is secure . . . I no
longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions,
plaudits, or popularity . . . I am a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I won’t give up, shut up, let up, or slow up until I’ve preached up, paid up, stored
up, and stayed up for the cause of Jesus
Christ. I’m a disciple of Jesus.
And I must go ‘til He comes, give ‘til I drop, and preach ‘til all
know. And when Jesus comes to get
His own, He’ll have no
problem recognizing me. My colors
will be clear because I’m a disciple of
Jesus Christ.”
-from “A Life of Integrity”
So, how about you? Do you feel
the call by God to be a faithful disciple of Jesus?
A disciple is what the church is made of according to Matthew 28.
Disciples are called to:
Pray
daily and often,
worship weekly,
read their Bible daily,
be willing to serve others,
live among spiritual Christian friends, and
give willingly and joyfully.
Thank goodness God calls us to discipleship and not membership.
Yours
in Christ,
Pastor Jon
