Pr. Keith Cook has agreed to serve as our supply pastor for the first 2 Sundays after Pr. Eric’s departure (5/30 and 6/6). Worship services will continue in the courtyard for those Sundays (with streaming on Zoom and YouTube also still available). We will continue the practices already in place for seating and distribution of Communion.
As we move into summer and warmer weather, our Covid-19 Task Force will continue to evaluate conditions surrounding the pandemic, along with any new guidelines, and make recommendations as to how we might begin to transition to a safe indoor worship experience.
Our synod office has identified a candidate to serve as our interim pastor. Council president EJ Rauworth has spoken with this pastor, and an interview with the rest of the council will be scheduled in the next week or so. If this candidate is accepted, the soonest this pastor could start would be in mid- to late June. As soon as agreements are reached, we will share more information with the whole congregation.
Please continue to pray for discernment as our congregation prepares to move into this next chapter: for our whole congregation as we evaluate our response to God’s call to ministry here and update our site profile; for pastors who might be considering a call in a new context; and for our synod staff as they work with us through this process. Please also pray for patience, as these tasks will take time!
